As we close out our Faces of the Future series, we celebrate the inspiring individuals at the heart of the Nomad Futurist Foundation. The Advisors, Ambassadors, and Advocates to the Foundation are driving a global movement with meaningful impact, a clear sense of purpose, and a bold commitment to the next generation.
A Mission Built on People and Purpose
The Nomad Futurist Foundation exists because of people: visionaries, educators, technologists, and changemakers who believe in the power of connection, access, and storytelling to unlock opportunity in the digital infrastructure space. From our Co-Founders and Leadership Team to Foundation members, this mission is sustained by a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves: building a future that is inclusive, resilient, and accessible.
Co-Founder Nabeel Mahmood captures this vision clearly: “It’s about giving back, creating access, and lifting the veil on an industry that powers our digital world but is still largely invisible to most people. It means education without gatekeeping. Opportunity without borders. Exposure without limitations.”
Co-Founder Phillip Koblence underscores the importance of Nomad Futurist’s mission: “We provide an invaluable service by introducing our industry as a potential career path for people around the world who would not otherwise have digital infrastructure on their radar.”
This belief fuels every aspect of our work, from creating accessible educational platforms to facilitating hands-on learning for students, educators, and emerging professionals. Through this series, we’ve amplified the voices shaping the future of the industry and connected with those who will bring that vision to life:

A People-First Approach Driving Real Impact
This long-term mindset and people-first approach are what drive our programs and partnerships. Whether it’s hosting data center tours, speaking at events, developing educational content, or mentoring future leaders, our community is showing up in real ways to make a difference.
But Advisor Ilissa Miller highlights a powerful truth: “Most people don’t know what digital infrastructure is, but they use it and are addicted to it. If they are that passionate about using it, then perhaps they are the next generation workforce we need.”
This is exactly why we launched the Nomad Futurist Academy, a free online learning platform designed and built by industry professionals. It offers curious learners a chance to dive deep into the world of digital infrastructure, connect directly with experts, and take meaningful first steps toward a rewarding career. Hands-on and engaging, the Academy is crafted with the next generation in mind.
Celebrating Diversity and Innovation
At the same time, we recognize that there is no single path into this industry. We celebrate the diverse backgrounds, from tech and education to sustainability, aviation, and beyond, that bring fresh perspectives and innovation to digital infrastructure. As Ambassador Umaima Haider explains: “Nomad Futurist helps shape the future of our industry by connecting the dots between diverse stakeholders — educators, professionals, and emerging talent — to collaboratively address the workforce challenge and build a stronger, more resilient digital infrastructure ecosystem.”
Our movement is nomadic for a reason: we believe in expanding across industries and around the globe, welcoming all who share our vision. Echoing this sentiment, Ambassador Rob Coyle describes the Foundation as a symbol of “how our industry thrives on people who bring diverse perspectives and aren’t afraid to chart unconventional paths.” Ambassador Adam Gibson adds, the Foundation “represents adaptability, innovation, and a relentless curiosity for shaping the future while moving freely across disciplines, geographies, and ideas in search of transformative impact.”
