San Francisco, CA September 22nd, 2023Nomad Futurist Foundation, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to inspire and cultivate future industry leaders of the digital infrastructure space announces that it is a partner of Leah’s Hopes and Dreams, a non-profit organization that works to provide homeless communities with vital resources enabling them to not only survive, but to thrive. Their goal is to provide these underserved communities with the tools and services necessary to eradicate homelessness.

The Nomad Futurist Foundation is proud to announce its partnership, led by Nomad Futurist Ambassador, Mara Ervin, with Leah’s Hope and Dreams: The Literacy Lab in Farmers Hill Exhuma, Bahamas. The Literacy Lab is designed to provide all children throughout the island with individualized reading, math, and technology support to improve their skills, leading to greater academic success in school and increased opportunities in life. This opportunity will empower and inspire the students through exposure to the underlying technologies that they would not have had and empower faculty, parents, and other impacted individuals to cultivate themselves and dream again.

The Literacy Lab aligns perfectly with the Nomad Futurist Foundation’s education initiatives. The foundation’s donation of 40 laptops will be instrumental in the development of the Literacy Lab as it directly impacts 450 individuals at LN Coakley Senior High School and another 500 individuals throughout the eight primary schools located on the island. These laptops will serve as an educational conduit as the individuals will have first access to the Nomad Futurist Academy, a free online academy focused on demystifying the digital infrastructure industry for the younger generation and those who want to pursue a career in the industry.

“We are beyond excited to combine our efforts. This collaboration is a testament that work can be achieved with visionaries who unite with a shared purpose. We are confident that the Exuma literacy lab will be a catalyst for change, enabling countless bright futures.”, comments Dr. Shenique Charmichael, founder of Leah’s Hopes and Dreams

“We have to remember it’s not just about correcting the deficit in skilled talent in our industry, it’s about creating a pathway for our younger generation in every community that also gives them purpose, and confidence and points them in the direction of a successful future.”, comments Mara Erwin, Nomad Futurist Ambassador and US Head of Sales, Onnec.

Both organizations are committed to the community and dedicated to giving back and creating pathways that will nurture the industry’s next generation of leaders.

“At Nomad Futurist we are thrilled to partner with Leah’s Hopes and Dreams. Together, we share a common goal: to revolutionize and make education available whilst extending a helping hand to those in underserved areas of the world.”, adds Nabeel Mahmood, co-founder of the Nomad Futurist Foundation. “Through innovation and collaboration, we will create a brighter future, where education knows no boundaries, and hope becomes a reality for all.”

Nomad Futurist Foundation and Leah’s Hopes and Dreams provide leverage to each other as they encourage and provide the necessary educational tools for the younger generation to thrive.

About Leah’s Hopes and Dreams

Leah’s Hopes and Dreams (LHD), is a non-profit organization that works to provide our homeless communities with vital resources enabling them to not only survive but to thrive. Our goal is to provide these underserved communities with the tools and services necessary to eradicate homelessness. In doing so, we are partnering and collaborating with the City of Charlotte, City of Concord, and a number of other non-profit organizations to improve the lives of those who are currently incarcerated and unhoused.  We provide stable housing, career development opportunities, mental health services, weekly feedings, and educational and certification classes. It’s not about what we do, it’s about how we do it.  Our approach is personal; relationships drive our services and help to heal the trauma of homelessness.  We strive to honor the profound worth of each life and for our work to reflect that belief. Our services are specifically designed with no, or very low barriers to entry.  For instance, our meal services provide food for anyone on the streets or anyone who reaches out.  Our year-round housing does not require background checks or photo IDs. We have a global focus on partnerships in Ghana, West Africa, Guatemala, and the Bahamas. LHD recognizes the far-reaching economic and socio-economic impact of poverty and the role it plays to influence the mind, body, and spirit (sharing God’s love even in the darkest places).
